If you are offering software, this script will email it to the visitor as a file attachment. The users information including email address, IP address, date of purchase, and file requested, is logged in a log file.
This will significantly reduce your bandwidth usage on your website. Instead of users downloading the software directly off your site, it is sent via CGI which is much faster and not recorded the same way on most web servers! You could transfer thousands of megabytes this way without it affecting any bandwidth limit your host may have.
Requires Perl (CGI) and Sendmail.
The administrator also has a private section, where the admin can email files to a specific user. The files in the administrators section are not open to the public. For example, if one of your customers contacts you and needs another copy of software they purchased from you, you can enter your admin section and have your server send it to them, rather than you using your PC to upload. This is a great time saving tool!
