We have finally finished most of the coding for the World Wide Classifieds 4.0!

We are looking for a few beta testers to test on their servers, we also would like others to test our BETA DEMO. To qualify for BETA testing on your server, you will need to be a current owner of the World Wide Classifieds in good standing. Those who have purchased previous versions of the classifieds (i.e. 1.0, 2.0, 3.0) will receive priority to BETA test. We only plan on a select few, and if you are interested, you can request to BETA test via our contact form (http://www.worldwidecreations.com/contact.htm) and we will require the following:

Purchase ID or Ticket Number of your classifieds purchase.

Site where you plan on installing the script.

Agree that you will report back you impressions and/or bug reports to this site.

Here are many of the features of 4.0:

Admin Control Panel. Most variables can be defined and edited via the control panel.
User groups. Customizeable user groups that give you flexibility in giving users special access.

Free, or pay categories. Each category can be setup with different payment options. You can even change fee's for each category.
Hidden or private categories. You can create private categories that only priviledged users can view or post to.
Option to allow users the ability to post ad's that will never expire.
Option to require admin confirmation of posts.
Ad's can have an optional discussion thread allowing users the ability to discuss an ad.

Users can purchase more credits via Paypal. We are looking to add other merchant providers. Will do this on a case by case basis depending on whether customer will work with us to add their merchant provider.
Refer a friend! Users can refer friends and you can reward user with credits.
Completely new rating system (see DEMO).
Word filter so admin can filter (replace) any word of their choice. This will work site wide.

Users can repost expired ads.

Looks great. Seems to be very snappy. But, I posted an ad - and it did not appear. Is that function shut off in the demo?

Actually, for some reason, I created categories that required admin confrimation.. I have no idea why I did that lol.. Changed it, you should not be able to post and see your ad's right away.

I tried again .... went through the steps - and now it is listed as an ad - but when you click on the link - you don't see the ad text or pic - just a blank square area in center :banghead: - Still looks good - :D

None of the ads can be seen -

And... what is the cost to upgrade (Have recently purchased the package of scripts - about 2 months ago).. Thanks :uhoh:

I was editing the default ad template. It is fixed now, you should be able to view it.

OK. What abour the pics - I have u/l some pics - but the do not appear - is this function operational??

Also, the color function for the text does not work - the ads were created with color fonts :uhoh:

Can the ad template be controlled - so that the page does not grow wide? Can it be set not to expand beyond the resolution of the screen

I would like to keep it narrow - and long - with the right side boxes within the 600x800??

How much will it cost to upgrade?? :)

Yeah I removed the font tag from allowed tags but just added it back. I was testing to make sure the tag removal was working correctly and never put it back in...

I had no problem seeing the picture you uploaded:

http://www.worldwidecreations.com/classalpha/index.php?Show_Item&15

Images must be uploaded and those images width can be controlled to keep the paging correct. The reason hieght is not regulated is to keep the aspect of the pic correct.

That is a link to another site --- I tried to upload a few pics from my computer - by browsing to them and selecting them -- the upload function appears not to work.

I still have to write up the documentation and get the upgrade script done. Barring no major bug find, probably by the middle of next week. I really want to get this tested as much as possible before release so as not to get swamped with support requests.

I am going to hopefully assume that since the thread has quieted down that no more bugs have been found? I have been testing it myself here and have yet to find anything out of order. In fact, most bugs seemed to be with the register_globals issue and a couple template errors.

I have finished the upgrade script, and am working on documentation. Let me know if there is anything in the script you found unclear as for it's purpose or anything you think should be added to the documentation.

I am of the opinion that installation is very easy, in fact, this is probably the easiest script to install out of any script we have be it free or commercial.

Let me know.

I tried the beta and its awesome. I did make a fake add and send me a message and it was fast. I made a couple messages and when I read them and wanted to delete them you can only do one at a time, then it recycles and its kinda time consuming.

Can you add check boxes next to messages so you can just check all you want to delete and then when the prompt comes up to delete you only have to click it once.

The Classifieds have been released. I would like to personally thank all of those BETA testers who actually participated! Thread is now closed.
