Would it be difficult to hack version 3.0 of the script so that a viewer does not have to be logged in as a member to get to the "Contact" screen? If that is an easy change, could someone post the code mod?

It probably would not be easy to do because there would be no real way to A. Get the users real email address, B. protect against many SPAM techniques. I would suggest you just give users the ability to register without email verification.
