If you have any questions or issues, please post them here. gremlinprince 05-06-2004, 06:22 PM Hi there, I have decided to use your hosting service to run the WWIM service. However I some some concerns 1) i have changed the DNS setting with my provider to corespond with those on the email i recieved for confirmation... Primary: ns1.worldwidecreation.com IP: 207.36.201.6 Secondary: ns1.primarydns.com IP: 216.219.239.7 Are these correct as I have tried numerous time to config them but the dsn always comes back the wrong way round. It ends up being Primary: ns1.primarydns.com IP: 216.219.239.7 Secondary: ns1.worldwidecreation.com IP: 207.36.201.6 As you see the wron way around Secondly, I have also requested help regarding the installation through tcooper but it says i need my 'telnet' username and password, I didnt revieve either of these. I need to know whats going on asap Regards Jafo 05-06-2004, 06:25 PM It doesn't matter, you can keep it either way as far as DNS. Your telnet login and username is in the email I sent you. It is the same username and pass as your FTP, Frontpage, etc.. gremlinprince 05-06-2004, 06:30 PM Thanks for your quick response Jafo, quick as usual. The Telnet details thanks much appreciated. The website which I intend to run the instant messenger is a1-messenger.com. Whenever I goto the url of that it comes up page not forund, even with the DNS settings the wrong way around and thats fter waiting 3-4 days after the initial DNS changes. The registrar have changed the DNS settings on other websites I run all within 24 hrs b4 and points to the server. I cant log into the ftp either. This is bizzare. Regards Jafo 05-06-2004, 07:30 PM Ok, I see what you are talking about, you are probably trying to get there by going to www.a1-messenger.com (http://www.a1-messenger.com) instead of just a1-messenger.com. For some reason, I did not add www to the DNS A record, but just did it now to the primary, and the secondary (ns1.primarydns.com) should update tonight as well. For the time being you can access it by just not using www. ahead of your hostname. |
