View Full Version : multiple errors - the dog won't hunt!
I have purchased Mambo Mail Pro.
On install it gags on two xml files which contain no installer instructions.
Removed them, installed the thing and put 'em back in the root directory of the application.
Suffered a problem with opening a stream, followed readme file and commented out line in parse file.
Now the compose, folder swap and other buttons do nothing. No editor appears.
Many hours of chasing forums and etc. have gone by
What to do?:banghead:
I forgot to mention Home - Invicta Chapter (http://invictahog.co.uk) will get you there. you have to log in . . . "Name" and "password" will do it.
I can see mail in the inbox, so catchall account is working. but I can neither opon it, nor reply to it. Is this some kind of path problem?
Have set error reporting to E_ALL. Now getting this:
Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$disposition in /var/www/web33/web/components/com_mambo_mail/parse_mail.php on line 119
and this
Notice: Undefined offset: 2 in /var/www/web33/web/components/com_mambo_mail/parse_mail.php on line 101
but lots of 'em. Seems almost every class call is losing track
I realise php notices are just that. But why is it looking for "non-objects"? And this in the apache error log
[Mon Nov 26 18:32:53 2007] [error] [client 81.139.194.108] Cache unable to open file for writing: /var/www/web33/web//includes/magpie_cache/5413db1710b5443dcab2 fad449a08603, referer: http://www.invictahog.co.uk/index.php?option=com_mambo_ma il&action=send_mail&Itemid=101
So, all the "notices" seem to resolve ok, mostly referring to options not in use.
But the apache warning is odd, with that strange escaped path structure in it. And why is the sendmail function or any thing else really writing to an rss cache?
You have some sort of caching module or component installed and there seems to be some sort of misconfiguration with a base path (/var/www/web33/web//includes/...)..
I have a feeling there is a conflict here..
OK. The Apache log is now silent.
Matter of a backslash where it shouldn't have been and a typo'd include directive...doh!
However, I still can't get this to install without a mass of mambo installer errors reference the fsktemplate.xml file. Is it possible to install the components of that file a: manually or, b: separately in some way. Can't figure out why the installer wants to read the damn thing, it has no install instruction in it. If I remove the two xml files from the package it runs through the install ok, but no editor, no reader.
This is on mambo 4.6.2 BTW. Could it be xml syntax or instructions?
I notice another post with a similar prob. Any ideas?
I assume the xml files fsk* need to copy, respectively, into an editor template and style file somewhere. Where exactly to they end up?
Hmm, not sure, but try this. Do what you did before by removing them from the package, then add the two file back to the components/com_mambo_mail directory manually and see if the editor returns.
Note:
Depending on your install, you may need to make sure the files you upload have the same ownership as the rest of the files in the director.
Thanks Jafo, but no dice. What is the FCKeditor base path set to during install? I can't seem to find it in any of the files? (In short, I am now going down the track of a hand install). I do believe as long as those xml files are not positioned in the right manner, it won't work.
PS The test.html file in the editor/subdirs seems to work ok. So it would seem we have some kind of pathing problem.
In the best of all possible worlds, where would mambo be setting its pathing for this component?
Where you unzip the file, the root directory of that would be the com_mambo_mail directory...
Are you sure your checked the ownerships and permissions when you re-uploaded the xml files as I suggested? They need to be the same as the rest of the files in that directory..
Jafo, all permissions in order, all ownerships in order. No joy.
However I notice that both the mailer component and the editor component are now offering php5 specific versions of their software. Could this be the thing?
Further I notice flurry of installer fixes for mambo 4.6.2 - in yr experience is it still a straighthforward install on 4.6.2 with php5?
Regards,
Ted
