I have purchased Mambo Mail Pro but cannot get the editor to
work. Can send and receive mail OK and searched forums for similar
problems. I can enter email address, subject and upload files but no
body to type in:banghead: , please advise ASAP

Hi,

I just finally figured it all out and you are right it sends email with no problem I made it set for registered users only and it did send email as the user i was logged into mambo as. The same problem exists although the messege input textarea seems to be appearing I can not enter it to enter text it almost appears to be a big blank/white jpg.

I have tried assigning every one of the 12 themes I have installed to see if it has to do with frames as I saw in another post but all of them fail to allow text to be entered into the text area. I also tried replacing

$Html .= '</div>' ;

with

$Html .= " ;

and that only made just a blank page appear breaking everything.

It would be great to see a little html style text editor as below in this forum software the quick reply block below but otherwise at least a function textarea input filed would be great.

waiting for some solution to this as well.

Thanks,Paul

Hi Jafo,

While trying to get this to work I happen to go to mamboserver.com and downloaded the newest version. I was using 4.52 and I uploaded the latest which is 4.5.3 with any security patchs that were available. I do have mambo back up an running the newer version but now the compose link looks like it just refreshes and does not even display the to or subject field at all. I have tried install many templates also and none of them will display the mail pages correctly. I will be in my office within a few minutes and will set the mail page to the public so we can try to debug it. I just wanted to update as to my progress.

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Jafo,

I have it set to public right now although when I first installed it and it was able to go to the compose page it will or did send an email but not from any user name of course. Here is a link http://itsreggae.com on the left you will see the webmail link.

peace,
Paul

I will probably have to take a look at this. I would need ftp access to do anything though. I created an account username "Jafo" that would have to be bumped up to admin too so I can test.

If you are interested, please contact me via the contact form.

Hi Jafo,

I just made you a super admin and changed the webmail to registered users only.

thanks for your help. I am not sure how much of the forum you have been able to look at this morning but I have a few posts in other threads with some other small issues i would like to get resolved also but one thing at a time.

peace,
paul

Ok, I will need FTP access to get anything done. You can send me the info via our contact form.

Ok, made some alterations. Seems their latest security patch has messed with the component a little, but this should do it.

Please note, you will have to access your webmail with the www. in the domain name otherwise you will get a permission error in javascript (it thinks it is a different website if no www is there).

Let me know if you have any more issues..

Hi Jafo,

I just added www in my browser and I do see the editor now. Great! Thanks very much. I have another question when I hit turn mail forwarding on it does change to turn forwarding off but where does the user enter an address to have this email forwarded to?

thanks again.
Paul

The email is forwarded to the email address they used to register with in Mambo.
