I have found a bug in WWIM that is caused by a new (appears to be a dll) that is included with AIM 5.5.
If you are attempting to login to AIM via WWIM you get AIM server down. However if you install AIM 5.5 and don't even start it WWIM is able to get in.
Any ideas as to which DLL file they have put into it? It would have to be a system script that's now called on by them when you attempt a login...

I think we all have that problem with AIM they going to fix it
Hi,
The WWIM uses AIM 3rd party TOC service to log in, it does not communicate with system dll's of AOL's software whatsoever. So whatever it was can not be related to WWIM, though a coincidence may have lead you to believe otherwise.
AOL has not updated their 3rd party service in years and we are switching to the regular, unauthorized AOL chat servers in the next version of WWIM.
AOL may cut this service off from their side once they discover what's going on as they have with trillion and others in the past, but we will have to go this route and deal with that when it happens as we do with MSN now.

That mean on the next version it will work fine or going to happened agian

the next version will not use the AOL AIM 3rd party protocol, it will log in as trillion and GAIM do.
This doesn't mean AOL won't change something on the server side at some point as MSN does. There will have to be regular updates to account for any changes they make to the server.
The thing is, the next version will allow you to toss an update dll into a folder on your site and have your users update automatically through the internet, instead of recompiling, so it will not be as bad.
